About James Alexander

Background

Having had a career spanning several decades in Theatre, TV and the classical music industry, I retrained as a Counsellor/Supervisor. I have lived in both London and Glasgow where my therapeutic practice over the last 23 years has taken me into both the Voluntary, Private and Statutory sectors.

Current

Currently my work is in the Private sector - I own and run a practice.

I am an Accredited & Registered member of The BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy) and also a Registered Practitioner of one of the UK’s most prestigious Professional Associations, The General Psychotherapy Council.

Professional Associations

Registered Member MBACP (Accred)

As an Accredited & Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy. I work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework.

My BACP Accreditation status demonstrates that the BACP has judged my practice to meet their standards of being a competent, ethical and independent practitioner.

My BACP Registration validates that I am a member of the first psychological therapists' register to be accredited under a new scheme set up by the Department of Health and administered by an independent body, accountable to Parliament.

I am also a Registered Psychotherapeutic Practitioner of The General Psychotherapy Council.

I engage in ongoing CPD (Continued Professional Development) demonstrating both professional commitment and accountability.

Crucially, I also engage in monthly Clinical Supervision.
